MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS

What is the Whanake Education Trust?

The Whanake Education Trust was established to try and reach a bigger audience, and have a larger impact on high quality education across the early childhood education sector.

Our vision for the Whanake Education Trust is:

“To foster innovation and excellence in early childhood education, so that all children benefit from participation”

Our goal is to work with others to make that vision a reality.

The Trust, and it’s relationship to Daisies

Whanake Education Trust sits alongside Daisies EECC.

Daisies was established in 2008 by Anne Meade and Linda Meade. Rachel Denee was the first head teacher, and is now co-owner with Linda Meade.

Our long term objectives, working alongside Daisies, are to:

  • Genuinely engage the community in the delivery of high quality ECE, so that it is recognised as of equal importance as good housing, health, and schools.

  • Raise professional awareness of how children learn, what good teaching looks like and what makes the most difference for children as they move on to school and beyond.

  • Understand (through research and otherwise) what else is necessary, adjacent to and complementing ECE, to make the most difference for children.

Note:

The Trust has charitable status CC56530.

Daisies sits outside the Trust (in Daisies Daycare Ltd) and pays income taxes.

The Trust is the owner of all of the Intellectual Property (IP) developed both by the Trust and by Daisies itself.  Daisies has a free, perpetual (never-ending) right to use this IP.

Lumitree is our online platform.
