How Children Learn About Responsibility
“Valuing children’s contributions to others’ learning is a feature of New Zealand’s early childhood education curriculum - and at Daisies. We think that when the teachers fostered interdependence, and tuakana-teina relationships, and collective responsibility for the Daisies’ community, individual children learnt more specific skills and the disposition to contribute - to willingly help others.”
For more information download this Daisies booklet which outlines the ways in which the Daisies team implemented strategies and observed children’s responses in order to strengthen their positive relationship with responsibility and support learners to become positive contributors.
